Tips On Brewing The Perfect Moringa Cuppa!

Brewing the perfect Moringa cuppa involves several steps to ensure you get the best flavour and maximum health benefits. Here are some tips to help you brew an excellent cup:

 

Ingredients and Tools:

  1. Moringa tea bags.
  2. Water: Filtered or spring water is ideal.
  3. Sweetener: Optional, such as honey 
  4. Lemon: Optional, for added flavour and health benefits.
  5. Teapot, kettle or infuser: For loose leaves or tea bags.

 Instructions:

  1. Boil Water: Bring water to a boil, then let it cool slightly to around 175-185°F (80-85°C).       Boiling water can destroy some of the beneficial compounds in Moringa.
  2. Measure Moringa: Use about 1 teaspoon of dried Moringa leaves or 1 tea bag per cup (8 oz) of water. If you prefer a stronger tea, you can use more leaves or an additional tea bag.
  3. Brewing:
    • Loose Leaves: Place the leaves in a teapot or a cup with an infuser. Pour the hot water over the leaves.
    • Tea Bags: Simply place the tea bag in a cup and pour the hot water over it.
  1. Steep Time: Let the tea steep for 4-6 minutes. The longer you steep, the stronger the flavour and potential health benefits. However, steeping too long can make the tea taste bitter.
  2. Strain or remove tea bag (if necessary or desired): If you use loose leaves, strain the tea to remove the leaves before drinking
  3. Sweetner: Enhance the flavour with a teaspoon of honey or a squeeze of lemon juice. Both add extra health benefits and can improve the taste.
  4. Serve and Enjoy: Serve the tea hot, or let it cool and add ice for a refreshing iced Moringa infusion tea.

  • Storage: Store dried Moringa leaves in an airtight container away from light and moisture to maintain their potency.
